Hello WyoFile reader,

Welcome! I’m Matthew Copeland, chief executive and editor of WyoFile. I’m writing to say thank you for subscribing to our newsletter and to welcome you to the WyoFile community.

WyoFile prides itself on providing independent, award-winning reporting on complicated subjects ranging from tax policy to trends in Wyoming culture. We publish a biweekly newsletter that gets sent to subscribers every Tuesday and Friday. As a nonprofit organization, we approach reporting first and foremost as a critical public service.

In 2008, recognizing the rapid decline in resources among traditional, local news outlets, a small group of veteran journalists and investors founded WyoFile. The goal was, and remains, to give Wyoming better investigative news coverage — the facts that may not have otherwise been made public but are necessary for effective civic engagement and healthy democracy — freely and easily accessible to all.

As you get to know us, I hope you’ll consider joining others in our community by donating to become a WyoFile member. Membership support is what makes this whole endeavor possible. By joining the ranks you’d be contributing to the long-term sustainability of public-interest journalism for Wyoming.

I’d like to become a member!
Even if you can’t make a donation, know that we’re very thankful for your support in the form of continued readership, engagement with our stories and sharing our work.
We also want to hear from you! If you have any questions, feedback or ideas, please feel free to reply to this email.

Sincerely,
Matthew Copeland
