Our 2024 Judicial Primary Election Guide is here!
Judges are powerful public officials whose choices on the bench touch many aspects of life, including traffic tickets, divorces, lawsuits, evictions, and criminal cases. Judges have the power to grant or take away someone’s freedom, enforce or overturn state laws, and correct or perpetuate injustices.
Use our election guide to learn about the 69 candidates vying for judicial seats in the March 19 Cook County primary election.
Here’s what you’ll find in our guide: judicial candidates’ careers and past experience, responses to our candidates’ survey, campaign finance information, information about past controversies and news coverage, and original Injustice Watch reporting. (Note: Bar association evaluations haven’t been released yet, but we’ll include them as soon as they’re available.)
What you won’t find: endorsements or recommendations from Injustice Watch. As a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom, we report just the facts, so voters can be informed and make their own decisions about who they want on the bench.
