Dear Canopy Atlanta supporter,
Floyd Hall, co-founder of Canopy Atlanta here. I believe in Canopy Atlanta because I believe the people and communities of Atlanta deserve to have a voice in how their neighborhoods are amplified in the world. Even further, I believe they should have opportunities to participate in that process and be the go-to sources of information—from the inside, facing outwards, and from the bottom up.
You already know that we prioritize local issues over profits. Our team works tirelessly to produce community journalism that you can trust because you deserve to have a go-to source for the news that matters most to you. This is essential work, especially these days, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of community members like you.
That’s why we’re excited to share that we have an opportunity to raise up to $55,000 through NewsMatch, a collaborative fundraising movement to support independent, public service journalism like ours.
Here’s how it works.
Starting TODAY—through December 31— NewsMatch will triple match donations, up to $1,000 per individual donation. So if you donate $10, we receive $30. Want your money to go even further? Consider becoming a member. New or renewing members will get their monthly donations matched 12x for the entire year! That means if you become a member and donate $10, we receive $120.
Altogether, through NewsMatch, we can raise up to $55,000 to help fund our work.
