“I support The Land because it’s hyper-local and focuses on stories other media don’t cover, and it’s free.” –Reader/donor
Hi there,

I’m Jeff Kipp, The Land’s Board President. When The Land started in 2020, we set out to cover stories you can’t find elsewhere — stories that accurately reflect the successes and challenges of all of Cleveland’s residents. Our approach to journalism is different from other outlets, and you’ve shown us that you value what we do. Today, over 30,000 readers trust us to provide interesting, insightful local reporting about our home.

Help us publish more local stories
As a nonprofit newsroom, we rely on our members to make our work possible. We’ve set a fundraising goal of $20,000 over November and December to prepare for the year ahead.

While we ran a couple of other fundraising campaigns this year, this one is a little different. From now until December 31, a national program called NewsMatch will match your new monthly donation 12 times or double your one-time gift, all up to $1,000 per person. That means that, through NewsMatch, we can unlock an additional $15,000. We surpassed our goal last year and need your help to do that again in 2022.

If you’ve been thinking about supporting The Land, now is the time to do it. Every member of The Land’s board makes a financial contribution and I invite you to join us. Your donation will go twice as far. Will you become a member so we can continue to deliver the representative, honest local news you’ve come to expect from us?

Help The Land unlock $15,000
As a Cleveland resident, you deserve to see the realities of your daily life reflected in a news outlet. So every day, our team of editors, reporters, and community journalists work hard to bring you stories that celebrate your neighbors, inform you of local events and resources, and shine light on issues and solutions that affect your everyday life. Will you help sustain our paywall-free journalism by becoming a member today?

Thanks for your support,

Jeff Kipp
